Project Background
01.
Situation
Pacific Rim Storage operated six locations across Vancouver Island in a competitive market where most customers rely on Google Search to compare availability and pricing.
Before the project, the website struggled with performance issues and lacked a stable structure for long term SEO growth. Page speed was low, Core Web Vitals were failing, and several theme components contained hardcoded CSS that blocked design improvements.
Branch landing pages were inconsistent, content was outdated and mobile usability was weak.
These issues collectively reduced search visibility, lowered engagement and limited quote submissions.
-
High LCP and blocking time
-
Weak Core Web Vitals
-
Poor metadata and heading logic
-
Fragmented branch templates
-
Hardcoded CSS limiting layout flexibility
-
Low quote visibility
-
No scalable content system
02.
Task
Pacific Rim Storage needed measurable improvements in organic visibility and conversions without rebuilding the entire site. The goal was to upgrade the technical framework, unify branch design, improve quote submissions and create a scalable structure for ongoing content and SEO.
-
Unified landing page architecture
-
Stronger SEO signals across all locations
-
Faster mobile performance
-
Scalable content templates
-
Better above the fold conversion flow
Strategy and Execution
We conducted a full technical review using Screaming Frog and Google Search Console and rebuilt core ranking signals across all six locations.
Key actions:
- Rebuilt heading hierarchy
- Rewrote metadata to target local keywords
- Improved internal linking
- Optimized alt text and sitemap logic
- Fixed indexing gaps
- Improved URL consistency
These upgrades created a stable foundation for long term SEO.
Using PageSpeed Insights and GA4, the site was improved without altering core theme files.
Work included:
- Compressing and re exporting images
- Removing unnecessary scripts
- Reducing layout shifts
- Cleaning unused CSS
- Improving mobile readability
The result was faster loading speed, stronger engagement and a smoother browsing experience.
Originally, customers needed to scroll to find a quote form. This created friction and lowered conversions.
We repositioned the “Get a Quote” form above the fold across all six locations.
Impact:
- 5 percent increase in form submissions
- Higher mobile interaction
- Faster conversions
- Standardized trust badges and reviews
Static pages were reorganized and rewritten to strengthen topical authority and improve user experience.
Improvements:
- Rewriting Storage Tips and Packing Tips
- Creating a full library of custom icons
- Improving internal links
- Optimizing the Unit Size Guide for scannability
The theme restricted typography and header structure, but internal layouts were rebuilt in Elementor for better flexibility.
Benefits:
- Easier staff updates
- Flexible layouts for promotions
- Visual consistency
- Reduced reliance on hardcoded CSS
